SELF-TAPPING

Self-tapping screws are designed to fit into a drilled hole and are generally used to secure thin sheet plate or light alloy. Self tapping screws ensure good tear strength.

 

CHIPBOARD

Chipboard screws are used to assemble chipboard panels and other types of wood.

 

SCREWS FOR PLASTIC

These self tapping screws are used in thermoplastic and thermosetting materials.

 

THREAD-FORMING

This type of screw may be used on metals subject to plastic deformation, without tapping the hole and without producing swarf.

METRIC

The threading of these screws is measured in millimetres. Standard threading is defined as metric ISO threading, and is recognised by the International Organisation for standardisation. Screws with this type of threading are identified by an M followed by the nominal diameter in mm.
